Mary and Oliver chose to keep things simple, meaningful and completely focused on what mattered most: their family.
Their intimate elopement at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London was full of personality, emotion and quiet joy from start to finish.
The Story
Oliver is a 31-year-old engineer who also channels his energy into boxing, using it as a way to help contribute towards their wedding. What started as a passion became something meaningful within their journey together.
Mary works as a business advisor in the FMCG industry and comes from a fashion and design background. She has a natural eye for detail and chose to invest in meaningful keepsakes such as embroidered gloves and engraved perfume bottles, rather than an elaborate dress worn only once.
These choices reflected exactly what this day was about. Thoughtful, personal and full of intention.

Jasper
The third important person in this story is Jasper, Oliver’s 8-year-old son.
On the day, Jasper stepped proudly into the role of best man and ring bearer. He is passionate about rugby and football, but his biggest achievement was keeping the elopement a secret for an entire month.
He played a huge part in making the day feel complete.

Why They Chose to Elope
Mary and Oliver originally planned a larger wedding, but over time they realised the pressure of expectations was taking away from what they truly wanted.
As Mary explained, it started to feel like everyone else’s needs were coming before their own.
Eventually, they made the decision to put themselves first.
In October 2023, Mary suggested the idea of eloping. She was nervous about how Oliver might react, but his response was immediate. He loved the idea.
From that moment, they knew they had found the right path.
They chose to keep the entire plan secret, even from Jasper, so they could experience the moment together as a family.

The Venue: Old Marylebone Town Hall
Old Marylebone Town Hall is one of London’s most iconic ceremony venues.
Mary had always been drawn to its character, history and architectural beauty. The Paddington Room was the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony.
Built in the early 20th century, the building is known for its neoclassical design and has hosted countless civil ceremonies over the years. Its timeless feel and cultural significance make it one of the most sought-after wedding venues in London.

The Wedding Day
We travelled early from Doncaster, catching the 07:22 train to London King’s Cross with a mix of excitement and caffeine.
After navigating the chaos of the Underground, we arrived at Mary and Oliver’s Airbnb and were instantly welcomed like old friends.
The morning was relaxed and unhurried. There was laughter, conversation and a calm energy that set the tone for the entire day.
From there, we made our way together to Old Marylebone Town Hall for the ceremony.

A Perfect London Elopement
The ceremony was deeply emotional and beautifully intimate.
Afterwards, we wandered through the streets of Marylebone, stopping for candid portraits and a spontaneous pint in a local pub. It felt relaxed, real and completely unforced.
To finish the day, we ended up exactly where every great London story should end. Five Guys, burgers in hand, celebrating a day that was all about connection and family.

Final Thoughts
This wedding was not about production or perfection.
It was about three people, their story and their decision to do things their own way.
Mary, Oliver and Jasper reminded us that the best wedding days are not always the biggest. They are the ones that feel honest.
We were incredibly proud to be part of it.
