Recently, we travelled to the Dordogne region of France to capture Faye and Nick’s unforgettable Château Rigaud wedding.
Set in the charming village of Mouliets-et-Villemartin, this destination wedding had everything. Incredible scenery, big personalities, and a story that brought us full circle.
The Venue: Château Rigaud
Château Rigaud sits between Bergerac and Bordeaux, surrounded by rolling hills and endless vineyards.
It’s a venue that instantly takes your breath away. Classic French architecture, peaceful countryside, and a sense of calm that makes it perfect for a destination wedding.
The Dordogne region is known for its beauty, and this venue captures it perfectly.
From the moment we arrived, picking up our tiny Fiat 500 at Bergerac Airport and heading out into rural France, we knew this wedding was going to be something special.

The Wedding Day
After settling into a nearby Airbnb just minutes from the venue, the excitement for the big day quickly built.
The forecast looked… unpredictable.
And it delivered.
What followed was one of the most dramatic weather days we’ve ever photographed. Torrential rain, thunder, and a full-on storm. But here’s the thing. It didn’t matter one bit.
Faye and Nick brought the energy.
Their personalities completely lit up the day, and the atmosphere never dipped for a second. It was loud, emotional, joyful, and completely unforgettable.

A Full Circle Moment
We first met Faye and Nick back in 2020 at Far Ings Nature Reserve for a bump shoot.
Fast forward four years, and there we were in the French countryside photographing their wedding day.
Moments like that remind us exactly why we love what we do.
A Venue That Truly Stands Out
A huge shoutout to Hayley and the team at Château Rigaud.
We’ve photographed weddings all over the UK and Europe, and this venue really does have something extra. The team, the atmosphere, and the food (easily some of the best we’ve ever had) all came together to create something incredibly special.

Final Thoughts
Faye and Nick’s wedding proved something we always say to our couples.
The weather doesn’t define your day. The people do.
This was a wedding full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, and we feel incredibly lucky to have been there to capture it.
