A Village Love Story That Led to an Unforgettable Summer Solstice Wedding
We are real suckers for a good backstory, and Lizzie and Josh have one of the best.
We could not wait to be their Lincolnshire wedding photographers.
Some love stories feel like they are written in the stars, and this is definitely one of them.
Their story began in the playgrounds, school halls and sunlit village lanes of Alvingham when they were just five years old.
Over time, friendship slowly turned into something more. There were a few bumps along the way, including a brief breakup at age ten after Josh upset Lizzie’s friend, but somehow their story always found its way back on track.
At eighteen, they shared their first kiss, and from that moment everything changed.
A Summer Solstice Wedding to Remember
Fast forward a decade, and on Saturday 21st June 2025, the longest day and hottest day of the year, Lizzie and Josh were married surrounded by their closest friends and family.
It was more than a wedding. It was a celebration of love, community and everything that had brought them to that moment.
The ceremony took place at St James’ Church in Louth, a setting full of character and history that perfectly suited the occasion.
A Festival in the Heart of Alvingham
After the ceremony, guests returned to Alvingham for something truly special.
A field in the village had been transformed into a full-scale celebration, creating a relaxed, festival-style reception in the place where their story first began.
It felt personal, vibrant and completely unique to them.
An Evening Full of Energy
As the sun began to set, the atmosphere shifted.
Smoke bubbles drifted through the warm evening air, catching the last of the golden light while Ellie Sax performed and brought incredible energy to the crowd.
As night fell, DJ Arkaid took over and the dance floor came alive.
The celebration carried on into the night, with music, laughter and energy filling the entire space. The kind of atmosphere where no one wants it to end.
The Perfect Ending
Just when it felt like the day could not get any better, the night sky lit up with a spectacular fireworks display.
It was the perfect ending to a wedding that had already delivered so many unforgettable moments.
From childhood sweethearts to husband and wife, Lizzie and Josh’s wedding was more than just a celebration. It was a full-circle moment, a homecoming and a reflection of everything they have built together.
